As highlighted by The Washington Post, some young employees at the Department of Government Efficiency have been leveraging AI tools to investigate the Education Department’s initiatives and financial allocations, all aimed at slashing federal expenditures as part of Musk’s agenda.
Details about the AI tool are scarce, but it is confirmed that it operates via Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform. The data under examination includes details concerning grant managers and private financial documents.
Even with these unsettling findings, the new deputy assistant secretary for communications at the education department assures the public that everything is proceeding transparently.
In her comments to WaPo, Madi Biedermann stressed that the team is committed to improving the Department’s efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability to taxpayers. “You can be confident that everything here is above board,” Biedermann asserted.
