Joe Rogan Challenges Drake Over His Cursed UFC Bets

Recently, Joe Rogan took the opportunity to call out renowned rapper Drake regarding his infamous ‘cursed’ betting habits in UFC matches. As the host of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast since 2009, Rogan has had the chance to engage with a diverse array of guests, including some of the biggest names in combat sports, such as Mike Tyson, Jon Jones, and Tyson Fury.

Rogan expressed a keen interest in inviting Drake onto his podcast to explore the rapper’s dismal performance when it comes to betting on UFC events. During a recent episode featuring music producer Scott Storch, the two discussed their aspirations to collaborate with Drake. Storch remarked, “I’m eager to work with Drake, but I’ve hit a wall. I know he appreciates my production, yet for some reason, we can’t seem to connect.”

However, Rogan’s primary goal for a potential episode with Drake would be to investigate the rapper’s track record of bad bets on UFC fights. He mentioned, “I really want to reach out to Drake and discuss his fight predictions. That guy loses more money on fights than anyone else. I need to call him up.”

Drake’s reputation for jinxing fighters with his wagers has gained such traction that many fans believe any fighter he supports is doomed to fail. This phenomenon is particularly troubling for UFC athletes, as Drake seems to prefer betting on matches within the MMA organization.

One notable instance of Drake’s betting misfortune occurred when he wagered on Jorge Masvidal to defeat Colby Covington at UFC 272 in March 2022. Overall, Drake’s losses from 23 UFC bets have reached an astonishing $12.7 million (£9.97 million), with only nine successful bets to his name. Nonetheless, Rogan’s producer pointed out that Drake did recently enjoy a significant win by correctly predicting Jon Jones would knock out Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, netting him $954,000 (£749,234) as a result.

Despite this recent success, Rogan was not overly impressed, highlighting that Jon Jones was heavily favored with odds of 600/1. He joked, “Wasn’t Jon Jones a 600/1 favorite? That’s what I would’ve thought too. I mean, that’s a pretty straightforward bet.”

The anticipated conversation between Rogan and Drake holds the promise of being an engaging and insightful dialogue about the rapper’s betting behaviors and their implications for the UFC landscape.
