Mother of OpenAI Whistleblower Alleges He Was Murdered, Says There Were Signs of Struggle

“Private Autopsy Raises Questions About Official Cause of Death”

The family of Suchir Balaji, a 26-year-old whistleblower from OpenAI who sadly passed away just a month after his revealing exposé was featured in the New York Times, is now raising concerns about the official explanation surrounding his death. They suspect that foul play may be involved.

A post purportedly from Balaji’s mother, Poornima Ramarao, on X (formerly Twitter), indicates that findings from a private investigator have called into question the suicide ruling given by authorities. Ramarao stated, “We engaged a private investigator and arranged for a second autopsy to uncover the true circumstances of his death. The private autopsy did not corroborate the police’s conclusion regarding the cause of death.”

Ramarao further revealed that her son’s apartment showed signs of a struggle, particularly in the bathroom, and noted blood stains which could suggest potential foul play. She has raised the possibility of a cover-up by the city of San Francisco, asserting that her son may have been a victim of a “cold-blooded” murder.

In her pursuit of justice, Ramarao has called for an FBI investigation and has reached out to high-profile individuals including Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and California Governor Gavin Newsom. Notably, Musk responded to her concerns, expressing skepticism about the suicide narrative, which has only intensified the family’s suspicions.

Following Balaji’s premature death, Ramarao has actively spoken out through social media and various media outlets about her son and her relentless search for the truth. Despite her efforts, her story has not received significant attention within the United States.

In a recent conversation with Business Insider, Ramarao shared insights into her son’s life, highlighting his love for mathematics and artificial intelligence, his departure from OpenAI, and the emotional journey she is navigating in her quest for answers regarding his death.

It is evident that Ramarao is determined to seek justice for her son, without placing blame on any particular organization or individual. Her goal is simply to uncover the truth and achieve closure for her family. This heart-wrenching narrative underscores the significance of pursuing justice and finding clarity in the aftermath of loss.
