The journey began in 2020 with the first movie, which raked in an impressive $319 million globally, setting a record as the highest-grossing video game adaptation in North America. The latest film, which introduced the character Shadow the Hedgehog, has amassed a whopping $422 million, bringing the franchise’s total earnings to over $1 billion.
The mid-credits scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 teased the arrival of a fan-favorite character, making the announcement of a fourth installment almost inevitable. While details about the storyline remain closely guarded, it’s expected that familiar voices like Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (Tails), and Idris Elba (Knuckles) will reprise their roles.
